In Tokushima Prefecture, craftsmen who possess outstanding skills and have contributed to the development of industry through their skills are recognized as "Master Craftsmen of Awa." 2023Mori Pottery Yukio Mori andKami kiln  Yoshihiro Takino has been selected. 

Awa Master Craftsmen... This is a system established in Tokushima Prefecture since 1982 to recognize artisans who possess outstanding skills and have contributed to the development of industry. Their skills and passion have had a significant impact on the development of Tokushima's culture and industry. We hope you will come to appreciate the excellence of Tokushima's proud craftsmanship.
Otani ware

"Ohtani ware is a type of stoneware (ceramics) made in Ohtani, Oasa-cho, Naruto City. Its origins are said to date back to around 1780. Using a unique potter's wheel called a "ne-rokuro," the "large jars" are made by two people working together and are essential tools for "indigo dyeing," a specialty of Awa Province, and are therefore called "ai-gama" (indigo jars). Currently, there are six pottery kilns scattered throughout the village of Ohtani.
